Counselling Services - A Safe Space to Explore Emotions and talk about the past and future.

Counselling is a type of talking therapy where a trained professional helps individuals explore and work through emotional issues and challenges. It involves a safe and supportive environment where clients can talk about their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to gain insights and develop coping strategies. Counselling can be helpful for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and more including mediating on any issues between you both such as separation, divorce or child arrangements.

Why Choose Counselling?

Counselling provides a confidential and non-judgmental space for individuals to express themselves freely. It allows clients to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their emotions, leading to personal growth and improved mental well-being. Through counselling, clients can develop effective coping mechanisms and strategies to navigate life's challenges with resilience and clarity. In counselling, a wide range of topics can be explored, including but not limited to emotional distress, trauma, grief, self-esteem, family dynamics, and interpersonal relationships. The sessions are tailored to address the specific needs and goals of each individual, fostering a supportive and empowering environment for personal development and positive change

Family Mediation Services

Family mediation in the UK is a process where a neutral, trained mediator helps separating or divorced parents reach agreements on issues like child arrangements, finances, and property. It's an alternative to court proceedings and aims to find solutions that work for everyone, particularly the children, in a less stressful and often less costly way.

Here's a more detailed look:

Key Aspects of Family Mediation:

  • Legal Binding Agreements:

Agreements reached in mediation can be made legally binding through a Consent Order or other court order. It all starts with a discussion at mediation and agreeing a resolution that can be put in writing.

  • Court:

Before going to court in many family law disputes, parties must attend a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) to explore mediation as a potential solution, says GOV.UK. There are some exemptions that we can discuss with you if relevant to you.

  • Benefits:

Mediation can be less stressful, time-consuming, and expensive than court proceedings. It also promotes better communication and can improve relationships between parents, particularly for the sake of children.

  • Neutral Mediator:

The mediator facilitates the process but doesn't take sides or tell the parties what to do.

  • Focus on Agreement:

Mediation focuses on helping you both reach a mutually acceptable agreement, whether it's about child arrangements, child support, or dividing assets.
